Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th 1996 in Stavanger and professionally referred to as Aurora often stylized in uppercase as AURORA is an Norwegian music producer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by Label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews by music journalists and press. Half the World Away, by the Oasis group for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are among the best covers of the artist. Katy Perry, who endorsed the tune Runaway by her, gave an additional boost to the music. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was locating a keyboard within her loft and being attracted by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes on to try music as an interest or a career. To achieve this she started writing her own music that was her own. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as a love for Bjork's style. Her mom encouraged her to sing her songs in public, not to achieve fame, but rather to inspire others to realize just how important the music they compose and what they can do for the world. She started playing piano when she was only six and began writing music at the age of nine. Family members didn't even know about it until she reached 14. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. She claims that she enjoys writing songs. Music to her is an ideal method of feeling any emotion.
